This is my first fan fiction. Hope you guys
enjoy reading :)
I don’t own Skyrim or The Elder scrolls
I returned back to the guild to get my
reward after successfully completing the Nazir’s contract.
As I walked down on the stairs, Astrid was
standing besides the stone table as usual. She seemed quite concerned about the
new problem happening around the guild, the Night mother’s listener.
“Ah…now you’re back…This is going to be a long
conversation”
“This isn’t just about the Night Mother; I
don’t know what she is up to about the guild. However I sense that this opportunity
will grant us the honor and glory which the clan hasn’t had for centuries. But don’t
misunderstand; I am still the leader of the Dark Brotherhood. You are going to
start working on Night Mother’s plan and also you must work under my command as
well.”
“Understood”
Astrid became more confident than before
the conversation.
“Good! Then let me get to the main point. I
want you to do something for the guild. There is a public wedding held in the
castle of Solitude. I want you to go there and assassinate Victoria Vicci, the
Emperor’s cousin. I will give you a bonus cut if you succeed to kill Victoria during
her public speech on the balcony.”
I remained silence.
“It would be a lovely affair. You’ll mingle
with some guests, eat some cakes…stab the bride…and they will say the romance
is dead”
This is going to be a great chance to nail
my name in the guild.
“As you wish”
As soon as I arrived to the castle of Solitude,
I could hear loud noises coming out from the Temple of the Divines. I walked
towards to the crowd, kept an eye on their movements. I could clearly notice
two guards standing on the left gate. I looked around the place and carefully started
to choose a best spot to kill her. The small lookout on the left rear wall of
the castle caught my eyes. That place would be the best place to aim her with
my bow and escape after the assassination.
I moved quietly among the crowds and
entered the door. As I got to the top of the stairs, there were few arrows and an
archery potion under my foot.
I sat down, drank the bottle of potion, took
out my bow, and pulled the string
The bride and the groom entered the door that
leads to the balcony. They came out of the other door and stood on the balcony.
“My husband Aesgir and I give thanks to you
for participating our wedding. We appreciate your love to us”
I slowly aimed to her neck. But I was
afraid to shoot; the place where I was hiding was directly opposite side of the
balcony. If I shoot her, the groom will notice me
As I was hesitating to shoot because of my
cover, she finished her speech and both the bride and the groom went down.
I lost my chance to earn the bonus but I
know my own safety is worth more than the bonus.
As they returned back to the seat, I knew that
this is going to be the last chance.
I pulled my arrow, aimed towards her neck and
patiently waited until she sat still.
My heart was bumping fast like a Dwarven
Pumps
Patience
is the best weapon I reminded myself
I finally let the arrow go. A deadly shot
hit the target. I killed with one shot
Her body fell down to the ground. The crowd
started panicking.
It was lucky that I’ve killed her with one
shot but there’s no time to enjoy the mood. If I don’t hurry myself it would be
a meaningless victory.
“Victoria! No!”
The groom cried out
“The bride has been murdered!”
“Somebody help!”
The crowds went mad and they started to
search the assassin. I had to find the way out before I get caught by guard.
Suddenly, I heard someone’s footstep coming
towards me.
It was my companion from the guild.
“Astrid ordered me to keep an eye on you. I
guess you could use my help to ex-filtrate.”
He smiled
“I’ll try to hold them off as best as I
can. You go back to the Sanctuary!”
He went down to the quad again. I could
hear him fight against the guards.
I changed my shoes to muffle and drank an
instant invisible potion to escape.
I sat down quietly, moved down to left corner
of the quad along the corridor to get into the temple.
Fortunately, no one noticed me getting
inside the temple. I began to notice my hands sweating like an overcooked
cheese wheel.
I looked around and found a stairs leading
outside of the castle. I quickly sprinted and got out of the castle. Soon
after, I journeyed back to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary.
what happened to your companion from the guild? did he make it to the DBS??
ReplyDeleteI like the way you use third person omniscient to tell the story, it sees through your characters’ mind, reviews their motivations and thoughts in the story.
