Joon's five fan fiction links

eg. football, movies, music, astronomy, religion, philosophy, military, cars, etc...

1. Liverpool Fan Fiction

The stories about the UEFA Champions' League Final in 2005 always bring back amazing memories. Among those who are the biggest fans of the Mersey Red Club, and were lucky enough to watch the miracle of Istanbul in live, I am more than confident that 'you will not be the only one walking alone' with that life-long lasting experience.

Long story short, Liverpool are one of the most successful clubs in the history of the English Premier League. They are also one of the top 10 most popular football club in the world and there are hardly better dramas than the UEFA Champions' League Final in 2005 with an exception of Manchester United defeating Byern Munich in the final in 1999. The story is obviously about Liverpool lifting up the trophy of the 2005 European Champions' Cup in the most dramatic manner. I am sure that most of people who have experiences watching football, coming back from behind in the second half of the game is a tough challenge, especially when you are playing against AC Milan, the most successful champions of Italy, and losing by three goals.

This is a fantastic fan fiction as I still can feel the energy, excitement, the passion, and the writer's clear perspective within the story. I can tell that the writer is a huge fan of football and shares a lot of chemistry with the supporters of Liverpool. I could not stop smiling while scrolling down this fan fiction, and the use of expressions and all the connotations are just surprisingly intersting to read.

2. District 9 Fan Fiction

Science fiction movies have always been my favorites to watch. However, if a movie has even more to offer than to just please my eyes, it has got to be an exceptional piece of art. The movie, District 9, is the kind of movie that I am always willing to watch and also hoping for the sequel. I could never get bored of all the ideas and the creativity as long as it is within the boundaries that the laws of physics can manage to explain. In other words, it has got to make sense, and it has got to be realistic by means of linkages with the world that we live in nowadays.

'District 9' is not about aliens attacking our planet, nor is it about us seeking for resources in the unknown universe. It is also not one of those alien movies that all you can watch is the darkness in the spaceship with red alerts tiring your eyes. And also, it is definately not one of the movies that a half the scenes are full of American flags fluttering. The movie, 'District 9', is about aliens accidently arriving on the planet Earth and being quarantined by humans in District 9, Johannesburg, South Africa. I assume that many of you have already watched this film and recognized that the narrative is also written in a unique manner. Firstly, the movie starts off by shooting a documentary, then it keeps overlapping into the movie for a number of times. The interesting thing about the flow of the narrative is that you actually do not realize the finally settling down point during the movie. In addition, I think it is a well written story with adequate sci fi features, which I think is one of the most applaudable science fiction movies that I have watched so far.

The fan fiction, however, is the most disasterous thing I have ever overcome with. The writer keeps asking questions that no one would be really intersted in. It almost sounds as if I were in a mental institute being manipulated by a hypnotist saying "right? right?".

3. To Kill a Mocking Bird Fan Fiction

The word, discrimination, is for those who can only see the world with the narrowest outlook. Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' seems to be one of the kind that best describes how the word, discrimination, can mean disgracefully to the recessive parties.

I really had not realised when I first read this novel about more than 10 years ago that Harper Lee tries to deliver some strong messeges to the readers. I am very thankful for the writer of this fan fiction for picking out some of those intended metaphors that were not only foreshadowing Tom Robinson's disgraceful loss in the trials, but also emphasizing that having prejudices can be one of the worst ways to discriminate. And an even better statements, which makes this fan fiction so interesting is that the writer also points out the power of words. How the power of words can have profound effects on people that it can shape minds, move nations, ignite feuds, and mend relationships, which these influences may last for all time.

4. Knowing Fan Fiction

The movie, 'Knowing', is a disaster blockbuster that draws a series of super flare from the Sun hitting the Earth, bringing total destruction to the planet. I have read about this kind of disaster before the movie was out, and I think the possibility that it actually can happen to the Earth makes the movie even more interesting. 'Knowing', on the other hand, has a very disappointing ending compared to its intriguing theme. And I really do not follow the way how the movie absurdly viualize the aliens throughout the scenes.

The fan fiction I have chosen also features some similarities as described about the movie in the previous paragraph. I started reading this fan fiction because of the passage the writer included in the title, "To know is to know that you know nothing; that is the meaning of true knowledge", by Socrates. But, as I was scrolling down her fiction, I realised there is nothing much to read than just describing the life after death. I was expecting the stories of the two little kids(a boy and a girl) in the movies, who happen to be the only humans surviving from the disaster by the help of the aliens. I thought they seemed to be some sort of metaphor for the first man kind on another Earth or most of Christians would say that they are the symbols for 'Adam and Eve'. But this fan fiction only tells about the after life of the dead father of the two kids, which could be seen as disregarding the sacrifice of his death and ignoring the movie's theme itself.

5. The Sixth Sense Fan Fiction

The first proper reversal film I have seen in my life. I know I am quite dull at guessing the characters right, but it is also true that I rather try not to think of other possibilities than what is being shown and said on the screen and the speakers. It is such an astonishing feeling that I have fallen into the narrative and got deceived like a six-year-old child. 'The Sixth Sense' is one of the kind that got me a smile on the face when the narrative is turned over towards the end of the film. It was actually Thomas Brown himself too who has been going through just like other ghosts from the first place.

The fan fiction, I am not quite sure if they are the actual dialogues from the movie, but is something that brings back the memory of that astonishing feeling that I first had from the movie. I really enjoyed reading it because of the imaginations that I was able to create in my head along the talk. I am sure it is from the very beginning of the meeting between Christian and Thomas until Thomas finds out that Christian has the ability to see and hear dead people. The passages and the use of pauses are very well arranged as I could almost hear the voices chatting in my ears.
